Designer’s statement

I started designing furniture at the same time as I started working as an architect. It's a fact that came quite organically: a building calls for its own furniture. Like in architecture, furniture embodies use, structure, fullness and emptiness, volume and material. The miniature architecture has been incorporated into the Bardo Collections project, which seeks to promote alternative objects and uses, as well as local productions to promote craftsmanship and know-how. The furniture edition for Bardo Collections is inspired by the shapes that form the backdrop to my daily life. The curve of the Gulf of Tunis, the doughnut of Sidi Bou Said, the garden through the window of my office, have all influenced the desks and tables that are essential elements in any house or flat.

Jardin Précieux

Jardin Précieux

The inaugural collection, Jardin Précieux, launched in July 2024, brings together a constellation of artists from the Southern Hemisphere, each invited to explore new materials and disciplines beyond their usual practice. Jardin Précieux conjures a sense of journey, nature, and memory, weaving a vivid, imaginative world that sits at the intersection of art and design. Under the artistic direction of architect and designer Chacha Attallah, artists Catalina Swinburn, Skander Khlif, Sofia Essaied, and Aymen Mbarki come together to reimagine interior spaces through a renewed embrace of color, form, and emotional resonance.

ERG

ERG

Erg is a meditation on vastness, solitude, and the suspended beauty of the desert. Drawn from the silence of endless dunes and the shifting poetry of sand, the collection evokes a landscape where time softens and boundaries dissolve. Here, the desert is a living expanse where light, texture, and stillness compose a language of their own. ERG speaks to those who find meaning in movement, in silence, in the raw honesty of nature untouched. Through material, form, and atmosphere, the collection becomes an invitation to rediscover a sense of wonder within the infinite.

Permanent Collection

Permanent Collection

The Permanent Collection stands as the enduring foundation of Bardo Collections — signature pieces designed to transcend seasons and time. Rooted in a deep respect for material and gesture, the collection unfolds as a dialogue between creation and context, integrating locally crafted productions that celebrate craftsmanship and know-how within a contemporary design narrative. Each piece embodies a balance between utility and artistic intention, where form is guided as much by emotion and memory as by use.
